Yeah, so the new console is up, running and awesome.
The Chris Parish session went fantastically. We had a 7-piece rock band play live to tape. It really was fun challenge to do everything at the same time. The band was really rocking, and my challenge was capturing that.
We are writing the rest of the record, and hope to have another rock weekend soon.
Also, I've been working hard on mixing Kloe Julun's new EP. I love mix gigs. Her new stuff is a really cool combination or organic and electronic, and it's been a blast to run through the new hotness.

The big news around the studio is our recent acquisition of a Soundcraft 1600 24-channel analog console. It's the same make and model they used to mix Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane" and the first Traveling Wilburys record.
The last 2-3 weeks have been spent sleeping very little and scouring Craigslist and Ebay for all the odds and ends needed to get this kitten purring. I've already run a few old mixes through the board, and I'm loving the results.

I've been enjoying some long overdue time off.
I played Tony Lucca's CD release show at the Mint. That was a blast. The CD is being reviewed very well, so that's good. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
I've got sessions coming up this week with David & Devine. That'll be fun. I dig those guys.
In other news, JT just sent me an email that two of the songs I produced for his EP are going to be on The Real World: New Orleans in the next few weeks, so listen out for those. Congrats JT!
